Mainly Music

What Is mainly music?

mainly music offers young children (babies to 5 years) a chance to participate in a 30 minute session of music, rhythm, creative dance and more in a structured and friendly environment. It aims to help them develop a range of skills, including motor movements, social interaction, appreciation of music and language. It uses a variety of songs covering activities such as getting dressed and teaching basic skills such as counting and colour recognition. It also enables parents and caregivers to interact with one another.

In New Zealand, mainly music is run under the broad oversight of the mainly music New Zealand Trust which accredits and resources local mainly music providers.

About Us

Whangaparaoa #4 mainly music is an accredited mainly music provider. We have been running mainly music sessions for over 5 years. We aim to provide a safe, fun-filled environment where children, parents and caregivers can come together for music, play and conversation. We encourage parents and caregivers to participate in the session with their children. We provide morning tea for everyone following the session so that parents and caregivers can chat with one another while the children play with the provided toys.

When, Where and How Much?

We meet at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 48 Waiora Road, Stanmore Bay, next to the Stanmore Bay kindergarten and primary school. There is parking down the church drive adjacent to the kindergarten — the chain at the top of the driveway may need to be removed before going down the drive.

We meet on Wednesday mornings during the school term, except for the third Wednesday of the month. The list of dates for this term is below.

We are open by 9:00am. The music session begins at 9:30am and is followed around 10:00am by morning tea.

We charge $3 per family per session, payable on the day. We use this money for things such as purchasing resources, providing morning tea and paying our membership subscription to mainly music New Zealand Trust.
